I don't know about you guys, but at the start of films I watch it tells me that it's illegal to show the film in a public place.

Everything can be recorded, one way or the other. You wouldn't be able to show your friends movies if said was a law.

Yes but in the OP is a quote from him stating that he downloaded Season 1 of Pokemon and then admitting that it is piracy

It is illegal to show the film over the internet however it isn't piracy, it's copyright law.  It's part of the FBI warning you get in any movie you buy.

Piracy would be "oh hey guys i got (x) from (y).com using (z) torrenting program now watch it with me on this (q) program i pirated from (y).com using (z)."

I'm not sure if that's bannable or anything, it's up to Badspot.

Us watching it is not illegal, but I'm sure the creators of the movie would be upset considering that's less $$ to see it for them.
