Author Topic: Paulguy's freebuild  (Read 929 times)

I can't get in and he's not on IRC. I need to see this build. :(

Did this really need a topic?

I don't see a problem with it, he needed a way to contact paulguy, but there was no other way

I've noticed that the number of people visiting has been a bit low, but figured it was just lowered popularity of my server or something.  Maybe there are other people having connection problems.  I verified port forwarding settings, but that wouldn't explain some people being able to connect and some people not being able to connect.  I suppose I'll leave the client open, but I might just completely forget to check for private messages on the IRC thing...

Does anyone else have connection problems to my server?

I remember when I used to go to your server.

I used to come to your server but then with the lack of new bricks like the 1 random brick pack and the lack of updating the content door I stoped coming there because of the lack of updating your add-ons and keeping up to date with add-ons.

Main Problem = Not updating constantly/keeping out of date add-ons

RTB should be keeping things up to date...

Unless you mean, I don't add every single add-on possible that you might want.

Also, my stance on custom bricks is mostly to maintain save file compatibility.  A brick pack or brick add-on could eventually just get abandoned, and maybe broken in a blockland update, and that save file will end up not loading up properly.  If I just keep standard bricks, it should always remain compatible.  Also, I suppose it's just a bit of a "purity" thing.  Rather than being able to use whatever odd shaped brick I want to achieve a goal, I can take a bit of a challenge and see what I can do with the originals.

For doors, I'm not sure.  I guess I could see if there are more out and install those.  I honestly haven't even had the server up a whole lot in months until the past week.

But really, I'm curious if people are having connection problems.  I won't be home until tomorrow, so I won't be able to fix any settings on my system until then.  I ask though because my set up is a bit weird, so there might be something I've overlooked.  I pretty much have the dedicated server running in windows XP running in Virtualbox because of the Wine WSACancelAsyncRequest bug, and that might be causing connection problems for some people, I guess?

EDIT: Also, what latency/ping are people getting?

Same here.  It's a good, classic, freebuild server.  No unnecessary add-ons, either.
I'll try to hit up the server more often; it's always fun to join and build/talk with paulguy.

Haha I remember that.  I don't have it anymore, since I lost all my saves, though.  They were on my old laptop that got stolen.
