Author Topic: Server Hosting (DNS Problems)  (Read 376 times)

I figured out almost how to host a server. I just had to use my alternate DNS code in the Network And Sharing properties thing. But for some reason, when I typed in Command Prompt, ipconfig /all, and looked at the DNS servers, both of my DNS servers were the same! How do I change it.

I don't see how both the primary and secondary DNS servers being the same could have any impact on server hosting. I believe having two listed simply allows it to use the secondary server if the primary server is down.

Anyways, to change your DNS servers, go into Control panel > Network and sharing center. Select your connection. click properties. 'Selection Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)' and click properties, and the DNS servers are on the bottom.
