Every photographer should start out with flowers. It's pretty simple and once you get the feel move onto bigger things like sunsets and bloop blaap.

Or you could take macro / low F-Stop photos the whole time.

Well, I'm on the right track then.

Honestly it's really boring. Dead center, eye level shot of a flower is boring. The flower is interesting but taking a picture of something interesting does not make a good photo.

Or you could take macro / low F-Stop photos the whole time.

Aperture has no bearing on the level of detail you can get. Macro photography is achieved with a lens that can focus extremely close to the front of the lens.

All of these things are found on cameras on (and pretty much exclusively on) literally the opposite end of the "camera quality" spectrum.

Time to buy a DSLR Lens 4 times as big as my camera now.

Time to buy a DSLR Lens 4 times as big as my camera now.
You uh, need a DSLR to make any use of that.

Also, DO NOT think for a second that buying more expensive equipment will make you a good photographer. If you can't figure out how to take an interesting photo, your pictures will be bad no matter how fancy your camera is.

I know, It's like paying $500 for Adobe Photoshop and not knowing about it at all.
