When you do the very small details do you do your hands too? Or is there something you use for the small details? Like the ridges on the highly detailed hookshot for instance.

If you meant "do you USE your hands," then, no, for the small details, I use tools.  In fact, for the majority of the figure, I use tools.

The hookshot was sculpted in two halves; I made one precise sculpt onto a flat surface, then casted it and created the other side.  I did not sculpt the chain.
