iPod touch g1: youtube app broken?

My ipod did this as well. For some reason, my time and date settings were off, causing them not to play. I know it sounds wierd, but I tried it out and it worked. It's worth a shot, check your date and time settings and make sure they're correct.

I want to jailbreak mine but I can't find the latest version of Jailbreak ANYTHING that works.

Also maybe the app is just too old?
