Adding sky affects

Author Topic: Adding sky affects  (Read 2829 times)

Ive noticed that in some maps that they sky has some features such as a shooting star.  How would you make the ski or terrain have moving features?

You probably saw a Blur on your screen or some body was shooting a gun that looked like a shooting star.
The only real "shooting Star" you could make is a sun that would go around the level but you'd have to make it really small to seem like a shooting star.

ok but how would you add something like your moving ground map has or simulate cloud movement

They replace the cloud texture with a texture such as a star and give it a quick speed.

No moving ground map, as far as I know.

The shooting stars are neither a sun nor a particle. There is actually something in the editor that lets you create an image and have it rotate around in the sky box. I just can't remember the name of it at the moment.

Sorry about being vague. Packer is partially correct, it is a sun. Its an object called fxsunlight. Using various animation inputs and custom media, you could easily create a shooting star.

Here is an example (done in Vanilla, but it should still apply):
