Blender
Milkshape,and thats probably it. plz help,so i can make my add-ons i've wanted to make..

Any text editor for scripts
Any image editor for decals/print/textures for models
Any sound editor for sounds/music.

Milkshape for models
Audacity for sounds
Notepad2 for scripting

Well,
First off i think you should start with using the default projectiles,and etc...
Milkshape is great for modeling,But it is hard to use (Atleast midway is helping me learn.)
Audacity is used for sound,So snatch a gun sound off the internet and mess with what you want.
Use notepad for coding.
