get with the times, gramps!

Off-topic was never intellectually-humorous or decent.

From the time I have been here, it hasn't remotely changed. It has always a flurry of stuffposting and spam, along with one or two well-written topics which eventually degrade into flame wars over subjects having nothing to do with the original topic.

Only once in a while does a post crawl out of the primordial ooze of Off-Topic which makes its viewers laugh. Those rare posts are all people tend to remember, since most if not all the other posts are forgettable decomposing nuclear waste piles in comparison. Those funny posts seem so rare nowadays simply because people see so many of them in the past, and expect there should be at least that many funny posts in current topics at the exact moment they will it. Most forumgoers don't realize, however, that most of Off-Topic is formed of poorly-written, dull posts, and that the truly funny posts of Off-Topic are as sparse as valid drama topics.

Couldn't agree with you more.

I honestly just stay here for the community gathering and arguing. I think that's the main reason this forum is still active anyway.
