Observer datablock?

I'm looking around my map and I keep noticing this "observer" item all over the place, what does it do and what will happen if I remove it?

That's the datablock used for the camera. They should all be linked to a player or client. Are there other people on the server?

For every client, there's an observer. It's used for F8, spy, when you die, and when you tumble.
