Author Topic: My PC decided to start acting picky  (Read 594 times)

For some reason, this has been happening for a month now. I will set my desktop PC to sleep mode, and then I'll go do something for a few hours.

My PC has a light on the power button that is blue when the PC is on, orange when the PC is on Sleep mode, and off when the pc is off.

When I come back from doing whatever im doing, I'll wiggle the mouse, and the light on the power button stays orange but the PC CLEARLY turns on again. You can hear it, but there is also no HDD access indication. I can't access anything on the PC obviously because it just stays black.

I have to turn off my computer. When I turn it back on, the light still is orange and I get no HDD access.

When I unplug the power and plug it back in and then turn it on, it turns blue, but there is still no HDD access.

When I lay the desktop on it's side it finally works.

Does anyone know a solution to this? It's bizarre and it's only happened lately.

try checking the connections to the mobo and hdd.

your computers innards aren't connected to each other, probably because of vibrations due to the hard disk or fan loosening some incorrectly assembled stuff. laying it on the side fixed it by using gravity to push the two things together.

I misread the title as the above. It still fits.

Atleast your computer isn't a diva like mine is.

Oh wow that's confusing.
Hey, sleep mode is really buggy. When I put my computer to sleep, and wake it back up, my mouse is useless and my keyboard has a bad case of sticky keys, where if I press a key to type or open the start menu because my mouse isn't working, it will act like I've held it down until I press another key, and the cycle repeats.

I get that too except everything works again when I restart

Sleep mode hangs my external HDD, which in turn hangs my whole PC.

My netbook has trouble turning off. Sometimes when I open it up it's still saying it's waiting for stuff to close.
Not to mention when I got it repaired it is slow as forget.

Windows 7 does that "can't shut down because all this nothingness isn't closing" all the time on all computers. Just wait the 5 seconds for that message to come up.
Also reformat for your slowness.
