Increase grid's size in Hammer?

My map is becoming too large for the grid in Hammer and won't show anything outside the grid.  Any help?

I don't know if it's possible to increase the grid size, but I do know that it's possible to increase the geometry scale, which lets you make a map that takes up double (or more) the space with the same grid size. Only problem is you'll have to shrink your current work by half (or more), which might cause some alignment issues for you.

Map > Map Properties > Geometry scale. Then increase it to make your map larger, if I remember right.

Argh, yes it would cause alignment issues.  Maybe I'll start split some up and connect them in F11/.mis script.  Thanks.

If anyone else has any suggestions, lemme know.

Split the map parts and connect them in F11 thats all you can do.

or make the map smaller (rescale) in hammer then rescale it larger in F11

That gives the same problem as the geometry scale, except way worse because you'd have all kinds of crappy engine issues with rendering. You'll always want to use the default scale for .difs. I tried that with some logs on Autumn Pond, it was terrible. Ended up being a pretty big waste of time.

The only problem with resizing is texture issues;  i'd have to redo certain textures of my map.

though in hammer there is a thing you can turn on that makes the texture scale equal to its larger conterpart (i expermented with this before)

Yeah Space, you shouldn't need to redo any textures, just double the scale values or whatever.

But if I select the whole thing, make it .5 smaller, double the geometry scale, my specially aligned textures are ****ed.

Can't you just re-align them again? I thought you were saying you'd need to actually edit the texture.

Yeah, I was just hoping I wouldn't have to.
