Author Topic: iPhone help - Headphone jack and lock button not working.  (Read 574 times)

Alright, so I was skateboarding with my phone in my pocket until i slammed and hit my side which my phone was in. When I got up, I checked my phone, the screen was uncracked, but, the lock button was unfunctional. When I tried to put headphones in at home, the headphone plug would not fit into the jack. it was push out slightly, and if i were to try and try to push in i would get no success, and I cannot listen to music. What can I do to fix it?

>Uncracked >Unfunctional

Sounds like something you won't be doing at home for free unless you feel like voiding the warranty, risking breaking it permanently, soldering some stuff and ruining it even more and then fixing the touch-screen.
Better get down to that Apple store, try not to skateboard with something as expensive and fragile in your pocket next time.

You moron

Warranty expired long ago bro.

Warranty expired long ago bro.

Everything else still applies, bro.

If you feel like breaking it beyond repair then sure, crack that thing open and get to work.
You'd be a loving idiot if you did, though

it's worth a try.

there's pocket lint in your jack, if you fail to remove it all the connection screws with the phone and makes it do weird things, like play your ipod, run voice command, and forget the speakers so sound comes out botches at random times. what i did was use a wet toothpick to pull out the granules of sugar that hat gotten inside the jack, it probably works the same for whatever was in the phone. the lock button is probably just bent.

we got the headphone jack fixed, but the lock button not working.
i used a jailbreak app to reprogram the home button to when tapped 5 times to lock. when held for 10 seconds to power off.
