I have been recently browsing Badspot's website more and I looked at games, saw Blockland Prototype. The picture gave me a nostalgiaboner so I decided to ask a simple question. Is there/was there a Blockland v0001?If so, Badspot, elaborate.
If you dont know if there was a v0001 then you couldnt have had a "nostalgiaboner"
In Future War, I discovered many of the limitations of the Torque engine and my ability to produce content. I decided that I needed a simplified game mechanic and graphical style, something that I could easily achieve working by myself. Future War had a deployable system similar to Tribes, and I had made some of the items snap to a grid for easier placement. The fun of building little forts with cubes of rock that snapped into place inspired me to make a lego themed game. Originally I had plans to make it a fort wars type of game with alternating building and combat rounds, but the free building mechanic turned out to be fun on its own. This little prototype became quite popular eventually being featured on G4 TV and and in several magazines.

I hate that guy. He badmouthed the stuff out of Blockland. To this day, I keep hoping Badspot gets himself up and over to Attack of the Show to attack that hoe and show off Blockland. Even if we'll get a surplus of morons from the case, because that guy needs to be taught a lesson about badmouthing stuff.
To be honest, this doesn't sound bad at all. I wish they could actually see what Blockland is now. I know it's possible, but the odds of them responding is tremendously small.
They got replaced with AotS
