Author Topic: I hate computer companies (rant)  (Read 870 times)

So for Christmas last year, I got a 1000$ or so computer. It worked very fine for quite a while. Then, spring break this year it was very unstable, but I got it fixed. It worked for a while but early september it got a serious error where it wouldn't even boot up and made beeping noises signaling something was wrong. They fixed it, saying AVG (a program they pre-installed) might have screwed it up or Windows might have updated incorrectly, and swapped AVG for Avast. However just today it just got that same error again (I merely do anything on it nowadays besides surfing on here, youtube and facebook along with playing GTA), and I am pissed. Plus, they screwed up my parent's computer when they inserted a new hardrive into it along with some cleaning up for a few hundred dollars.

I am mad now, can anyone offer advice for when I bring it into the shop? My comp is a custom build from them by the way.

By the way, I'm on my phone so excuse my poor grammar and seemingly rushed typing.

What company? I'd laugh it is a Dell.

Also, just format your computer. Will fix the insecurities and unstableness and clogginess of any system.
Those last 2 aren't even words lol

Just remember to get anything you need off/get a backup first. Formatting completely wipes your hard drive.

who did you get it fixed by?
not Geek Squad I hope

Custom build your computer yourself next time :P The people fixing your computer don't seem trustworthy, either. Look up what those beep codes are signaling online.

If I bought a $1000 computer and it broke that much I would be pissed to.

How did they come to that conclusion? Sounds bullstuffty.

Protip:  don't use a service that forgets you over more than once. Lol.

kinda sounds like you're neglecting your $1000 computer. hell mine was around $700 Thermaltake custom built, and it's a gaming rig and i use it daily to richard around on some high-res fps for 3 hours or more.

not saying that's an issue, but just throwing that out there.
i would take Ethan's advice for sure, though

And this is why I had someone build my computer who I can trust.
