Author Topic: Force AA on Specific Games? (AMD)  (Read 2596 times)

Hello.
I was gonna post this in the computer thread but since it's not just to do with hard ware I decided to make a new topic.
Is there anyway (with an AMD GPU) to just force anti-aliasing on a specific game (a.k.a blockland). I know how to do it with all games but I don't want to have to keep changing it back and forth. ;c
Thanks.

Open the AMD graphics control panel.  Usually by right clicking the desktop and it'll say something like "AMD Graphics Control Panel" or something like that.

That's how mine does it, I have Nvidia though.  Then you just go into application settings and override the application's anti-aliasing.

yeah its different with amd
theres no obvious option to do it with specific games, only all games

Uh, make sure you have the latest drivers first, by getting your exact specs and downloading the latest CCC package from the AMD website.
Then, once they have installed and you have restarted your computer, there will be a new symbol down in the right of the taskbar, called either "Catalyst Control Center" or "AMD Vision Engine Control Center". Go in there, and find the 'Gaming > 3D Application Settings', then customize to your liking.

It's possibly the easiest control for this, and is the same with nVidia. I thought this was basic knowledge that before you game, you sync up your settings?

There's no way to do it with specific games, unless you tick "Use Application Settings" or similar, and force it in the games settings panel.

Like I said, I know how to do this.
You see I was trying to force AA on blockland without doing it to all my other games since blockland has no AA setting.
I didn't want it on other games because they already had the setting and adding more on cuts my FPS.

Well, to be honest, the settings in games isn't as optimized as the one in your control center.
So, disable it in your games, and add it in the control center.

I'll try it.
So there's no way to force specific amounts to specific games?
Like: Have 8xAA on blockland and 4xAA on TF2? Just an example. :/

Nope.
Although for some games, it works if you have say 4x set in the drivers as a starter, then 2x that in the game panel.

Darn, oh well. Thanks for your help. Locking.
