Author Topic: 1940's Blockland advert.  (Read 1580 times)

Recently I've found myself rather enthralled in the stylized artist mediums of the good ol' 1920's-50's.
So I thought I'd give that stylized look a shot (in traditional fallout 3 distressed production of course >:D)

I think it would be better with a blockhead on it...
But it's still very nice.

I'm on it already, good suggestion. V2 on it's way in like 10ish minutes.

Graphically speaking its very nice.

But it doesn't look like a 1940's advert, looks more like the wild west of pre-1910 to me. And it barely has anything to do with Blockland content wise.

Who's that supposed to be? Badspot's great grandfather, also named Eric Hartman?

Awesome looking, but needs more Blockland content.

Try to use colors on a monochrome range for the guy, usually people associate the 40s with like cityslickers

i coined the phrase cityslickers yeah yeah yeah

What about countryslickers? :o

The font really gives it that unique 40's-era style. I also like your placement of the big B logo.

Thanks for your comments friends, I'm working on a new "more 50's styled" poster with an actually blockhead on it so worry not. Also if you'd like me to make you something in specific go ahead and say so. Chances are I'll have nothing to do be delighted to have some mental stimulation.
