The launcher supports other locations, but you must specifically tell it to use somewhere else.

The changelog for version 20 gives the example

Go to My Documents on your computer, and find a file called Blockland. Open that file up, and delete this file.

It doesn't really matter here. However, if he is from Israel, it probably shouldn't be surprising that he isn't excellent with English, IF it's not his first language.
