They are made of steel but look at what other stuff we make with steel that weighs a hundred billion tons.

It is a bit of steel hammered into shape. Not difficult at all nowadays, with machines and internet videos.

If only I could form swords by pounding on a peice of scrap steel. If only.

They cost so much because of the materials put in and the dangerousness into them.

The $100-$150 is actually more than it costs to fabricate in my opinion.
Then the commercial adding which is added by the shop comes in, and the VAT.

Eitherway, the swords are actually overpriced comparing to materials. But to legallity, it is just fine.

The katanas sold are not intended for fighting but for decorations.

Rifles and automatics in the southern region of USA are only a couple hundred bucks.

you can get swords and such all over the place for 50, 150, but they're probably not made for any kind of real use at all

I'm no saying you couldn't find a good sword for around that but you'd be extremely lucky

Handguns are only $150 - $200

A stuff one. My dad's handgun was about $700.
