Author Topic: Help with game freezing.  (Read 438 times)

So, I was playing CS:S. The game stuttered and I pressed the Windows Key. It went to the desktop but went back into the game. Now, I can't do anything. I can move the mouse, but WinKey and Alt-F4 don't work. I don't want to hard-reboot, because I don't want to hurt the computer.

Help?

ctrl alt delete and end whichever process the game runs in(i think source games run under hl2.exe but cs:s might be different?)

ctrl alt del

end css process

or ctrl shift escape if you're running windows 7

Ctrl Alt Delete didn't work.
Neither did Ctrl Alt Shift

whats ctrl alt shift supposed to do :?

if it just went back to the game alt tab to the windows task manager

ive done it with my laptop

Alt Tab doesn't work.

wtf

just force reboot

Will it hurt it? If so, how should I do it? Just hold the power button down?

I force shutdown my computer continuously, works fine.
(just hold down the power button)

Just one more question.
I did it once before, and after that we had to replace the PSU and reinstall Windows. It's not my computer, and it's the same computer that it happened on.
