Author Topic: Oh forget no, Vista antivirus 2012.  (Read 1093 times)

Okay guys, I'm in safe mode, and I've started a full scan with malwarebytes.

What do I do now? Do I just wait it out?
Well, you could do the dishes.

My one shot killer is Malwarebytes+Safe Mode with networking. After malwarebytes finishes up run a full system scan again with it and Avast at the same time. For some reason when they run together they dig up stuff nothing else finds.

Avast is SLOW ASS when doing a full scan, however. I've had some luck with SuperAntiSpyware, it dug up 144 counts of adware and 1 count of a trojan on my mom's laptop.

since you're in safe mode with networking, google where the files for the virus are, and rip as much stuff as possible from it

like delete every single file you can

hmm. If you can open up your task manager, what will the program be running under? Usually it will have a suspicious spammy name. If you find something you know shouldn't be running, close it and get malwarebytes. Sometimes these programs can restrict any usage to the programs.

Safe mode > Malwarebytes.
Avast won't do stuff.
Uh, it's a virus that disguises itself as an antivirus.

Malwarebytes couldn't detect it for me, I had to run safe mode and do a system restore, remember? Try that Stick.
