Author Topic: Coolio needs help with his dead computer.  (Read 613 times)

So, my computer had bluescreened. Whenever I use it, it randomly shuts off. I can't even boot Windows before it shuts off.
I'm using a Win2000 with 126mb ram and a P4 1.70ghz. It's really getting to me, and I want to fix my computer. It might be the PSU, it might be the motherboard, it could be anything, and I don't know what. I'll hook it up now and see how it goes. Last time I tried it, it didn't work. That was Friday. It broke about Tuesday.
So, could some of you who know lots about computers help me? I mean, I know a lot about computers, but I'm really clueless about this. Feel free to ask for any info about the computer you need. For starters, it's a Compaq s6000nx, we got it in 2004, refurbished.

I'm going to boot it up, if it doesn't work, then I'll put in the WinXP CD and boot from it.

The green power light blinks and I hear a tick from the computer.

Okay, there is a pink switch on the pc's back. I switched it, and booted up. It shut off twice within 5 seconds, started up, green light was solid, orange light didn't show. Switched it back, the computer just shut off 4 times and kept repeating itself.

PSU says ENERMAX SFC ATX 12 VER 1.3

There is some other things like AC Input. Is that important?

When I boot it it's just a black screen. The monitor's light blinks.

dude, take out your RAM.

BSoD = generally RAM memory leak.

I'll make an order of events.
>go to bed
>wake up
>computer bsod
>reboot
>randomly shuts off
>unplug
>go to school
>computer randomly shuts off, no bsod at all
>uplug for 3 days
>try again
>shuts off randomly
>unplug
>try again today

Come on guys, why aren't you helping? D:

Here's a thought: It's because no one knows what's wrong
