Can't host a dedicated server.

Author Topic: Can't host a dedicated server.  (Read 1700 times)

I forwarded the correct ports and I can host ingame.
After I set up the preferences and  tried to run a dedicated, it gets stuck at "Posting to master server".
I went on my other computer to see if it worked and it was Dead.
Am I missing something?

Here's an image of the console:

The firewall I use is ZoneAlarm.
I have it set to 'Game Mode' so everything is allowed.

I've also tried DMZ for my IP.

EDIT- I would use the ingame hosting methed, but my connection on this computer is wireless.
It would be better for everyone to have it on my 3GHz computer directly to the router.

If you check it with a computer that's on a lan with the one you're hosting, it will appear dead, doesn't mean it is.

Just make sure you forwarded the ports on the UDP Protocol, not the TCP Protocol.

Yes, use UDP.  If you query Internet and your server shows up as dead, then there is a port forwarding or firewall problem.

To clarify, when the server gets to "Posting to master server", it's running properly.  It doesn't really do anything until someone joins.

Mine shows up as dead when i query, but people join fine  :cookieMonster:
