Author Topic: Mic problems.  (Read 451 times)

I recently upgraded to windows 7 from XP and the mic on my jack headset isn't being picked up. The headset speakers are found and they work fine. The "recording" tab of the Sound options says that there are "no audio devices are installed" even when show disabled/disconnected devices are checked. I tried updating my driver (already updated) and then reinstalling it. I have tried plugging the mic and headset into both the front panel and back panel. I have also tried a microsoft fix it service as well as the built-in troubleshooter. I have even plugged it in to another computer and it works fine.
I am using a logitech ClearChat Stereo headset (with jacks) and my video card is labeled as a High Definition Audio Device. My headset is recognized as speakers if that matters.

I've also posted on an official microsoft answers forum thing, I just wanted to see if you guys could help at all.

I installed everything through microsoft. IT says the drivers are all up-to-date. I've reinstalled them as well.

Go to Start>Control Pannel>Hardware and Sound>click [insert audio manager here]

you can change settings and set up your mic. if it doesnt help, sorry for wasting your time. :panda:

I'm guessing you mean getting to the High Definition Audio Device box. I went there, and hit change setting (with the little admin shield) and nothing happened. The box just reloaded and the button disappeared.

Get yourself a sound card, bro. None of this ever happens when you have a dedicated sound card.

Plus, you'll have all that extra simulated surround sound and equalizer stuff.
