Author Topic: How do I reinstall Windows Firewall?  (Read 652 times)

I recently noticed that my firewall was uninstalled during that virus attack I had recently. I'm pretty sure i've rid of the virus completely. But I cannot figure out how to reinstall Win 7 Firewall.

Any Ideas? Please only answer if you know what you are talking about.

i would put in a win CD and attempt a repair. it should find all the missing necessaries.
though a windows update might... not sure if updates seek out missing stuff.

I figured out what your avatar is from... Tiny Towers!

OT: I think you can find it on the Windows website or when the other windows files are at..

I'm pretty sure Windows Firewall can't be downloaded for security reasons. Just do as Bisjac said and use your Windows OS Disc Repair function to get it back.

I don't quite remember how to do that. I tried to set it up actually a few minutes ago and it froze on loading the disk. Not sure why, the disk is in perfect shape, it just wouldn't process to the next part.

Run this as administrator (from the command line):
Code: [Select]
SFC /SCANNOW

Then you should be able to reinstall it from Controlpanel -> Programs -> Activate or inactivate Windows-features.
