1. You should probably use the current one for modeling, but 2.49 for exporting.

oh.
thanks.
I didn't think to go there because the models I'm making aren't for Blockland
>_<

2. The blender website should have some tutorials for texturing, if not I'm sure you can find a guide somewhere.
3. No idea (Mainly don't want to take the time to learn about subtracting :C)
4. Not sure again, But there are ways you can model things to get them symmetrical without it. (Eyeballing it is always good too,but if you want to be perfect)

guys how do I align an object to the origin, because the measurements are relative
when I move an object and hit 0, it just snaps to where it was before

I am really new to the program but as you can see I am doing fairly well, I am not saying i am good but I mostly watched youtube videos for learning the texturing and the hotkeys and controls. Hope you do good check out my post. :D

Booleans but I advise against using them unless you know how to use the remesh modifier in Blender 2.6x

But that doesn't come as default. I haven't found it. I had to download a third-party build to get it.

That isn't a third party build lol. That's the community build which is the latest version of the build, all the blender foundation does is post the "stable" releases on its site.

Close enough. The point is that the remesh modifier doesn't come with an official build.
