Here's a method for germinating uh.. a certain plant.

Get a glass of warm water. Warm water. Not cold. Warm. Not lukewarm. Warm.

Put the seeds on top the water so that they float. Wait a minute them tap each of them lightly. The best, most viable seeds will sink to the bottom. Put a plate or something over the top to contain the heat.

Put this glass/plate thing in a dark area. Seeds do not need light to germinate and light will damage the taproot.

In about 24 hours a taproot will be poking out of the seeds. This is VERY delicate. Do not touch it.

When the taproot is clearly visible, transport the seed into it's hole without exposing it to bright, or any if possible, light. Do not touch the taproot.

Once it's in the pot, do not be tempted to overwater. If possible, wet all the soil before transplanting the seed into it. Make it moist but airy. Not sopping wet. This will drown your plant.

If this is too much work for you, there is an easier way but I don't like it as much.

Get a paper towel. Wet it with WARM water. Same deal applies as before.

Put seeds evenly spaced at least an inch apart in this wet paper towel.

Put the two paper towels inside of two plates turned against eachother. This is to contain heat, again.

Wait 24 hours MINIMUM before checking. Checking too early could destroy the taproot and ruin the seed.

Once the taproot has formed and is visible, transplant seed using instructions above.

Keep in mind, transplantion is a very stressful process for plants and can cause implications later on. You may be able to circumvent this stress by purely planting it in dirt, but I find germinating gives much better results.

Don't ask how I know this.
