Author Topic: JPG vs PNG difference?  (Read 2369 times)

I usually notice a reduction in quality after uploading to sites like tinypic
It looked better before.

It started showing artifacts more recently.

I just save everything as a .PNG

I always use png for everything I do image-wise. Textures, screen-shots, iron-on images, everything.

PNG is the best for high res I think.  Or BMP.

JPG's always look washed out

BMP is probably as high as quality gets, considering it's a bitmap.

Of course, if you're completely fine with incompatibility and huge file sizes.

There is no difference at all in visual quality bewteen PNG files and BMP files.

I always use PNG for everything and anything.

I use PNG for images under the dimensions of 800x600, other than that, I like the compression JPEG has so I can upload a bundle of images in no time at all.
