as soon as this page loaded my eyes were immediately caught by the word "niggled"
wtf
It's a word.
nig·gle/ˈnigəl/
Verb:
Cause slight but persistent annoyance, discomfort, or anxiety: "a nasty leg wound which still niggled at him".
Noun:
A trifling complaint, dispute, or criticism: "it is an excellent book except for my few niggles"; "I have a few niggles about design".
I sometimes get distracted by things like scale.
Sometimes it's just very very difficult to think about how two things interact. And the fact that I have to think and make my own decision over how two things interact means that I have to draw myself away from the book.
I get easily distracted by things that don't make sense to me and I can't get them out of my head.
And while I'm sat there thinking about how this works, my brain somehow manages to carry on reading, but the moment I'm done thinking I look back at the book and wonder "How the hell did I get two pages on? I don't even remember a word of that".
Generally though, this happens in every book, good and bad for me. So I just carry on and enjoy the story if I can.
