Author Topic: iPod Touch broken lock button  (Read 1041 times)

Since I can't shut down my iPod, I need to know if there is any other way to jailbreak an iPod Touch 4g on iOS 5.1. If there isn't, I'd need to know if there is a way to DFU mode without having the lock button.

No, he needs to put it into DFU mode, which is required for jailbreaking, and which can only be done with the use of both the sleep/power button and the home button.

@OP: Unfortunately I don't think there's anything you can do. Is the warranty on your device still valid? If so, you can get it repaired at the Apple Store, possibly for a price.

I've had it for over a year, so I doubt it still has a warranty.

Well, you can still get it repaired, but it'll cost you. Give your local Apple Store a call and ask how much it would cost to fix.

Yeah, I dropped my iPhone 4 in the sink the other day (don't ask), took it to the Apple Store up at the mall, told them it was water damage, boom, new iPhone for free.

Your lock button is broken?
Well my iPod got run over the other day.
What.
Why did you leave it out on the road?
