Author Topic: Was the loading GUI always in Blockland?  (Read 675 times)

I don't know if its an add on I have but I tried loading a default save on a dedicated server and this GUI came up. Is it normal, and why is it taking so long to upload?

Whats also weird is when I went to speedtest.net to check my internet it said my download speed was around 34mbps which is normal, but my upload was 22mbps, its usually only around 6mbps...

Sorry, I double posted.

The larger the save file, the longer the upload.
You can make this much faster by moving your save to base/server/temp and rename it temp.bls and say /reloadbricks

Thanks, but this GUI does not come up when I host a server from the main Blockland program.

That's because you aren't uploading it to the server.

That's because you aren't uploading it to the server.

..and you was host.

Basically, when loading a save on your own regular server, the GUI does not pop-up.  While on other people's servers and dedicated servers, it does pop-up.  Think of it as your regular server is on your computer.  When you load a save, the save being loaded is close by, thus no need for the GUI.  But if you are on another's server, the save has to be 'transferred' to the other person's computer and then loaded-or on a dedi, the save has to be loaded to the 'large dedicated server hosting site' that then loads it into your dedicated server.

it still has to "transfer" from my computer to my computer when I'm hosting a dedicated server, which is kind of silly.

Yeah, I was hosting the dedicated on the same server that I was using to play thats why I was confused.

It's not silly at all. It's a networking structure.

But yeah, if you're the host of a non-dedicated, the bar wont show up because it does a direct load. It can do this because the client IS the server.

Where if you're on someone else's server, or your own dedicated, it needs to upload it to the server. After all, there really isn't much of a way to check if it's actually the same copy of the game you're uploading from.

but that's silly. anyone who doesn't know how these things work will agree!
