Author Topic: Port Fowarding  (Read 897 times)

Hey guys, I would greatly appreciate DETAILS on port forwarding, using internet explorer, a brand new up to date lynks router, and Windows 7. I would also know approximately how long this needs, any software/certain permissions I need, and whether or not this costs anything. I want to port forward specifically just so people can join my server, nothing special.

Its free.
You just need the administrator username and password to your computer router and computer.

Tell me what router you have.

I honestly don't konw, my dad bought the router and my dad's to sick to do much right now, all I konw is that it's a Linksys if that helps any.

Link

Go there and tell me which one is yours. All you need to do is find it in your house and look at the name on it.

You say you have a linksys router?
They default to the ip at
http://192.168.1.1

try these to log in
Username:admin
Password:

U:admin
P:admin

U:admin
P:password

note the part underlined below, only do that if the above link does not work. you can ignore it otherwise.
if the above link doesn't work, push these keys and type "cmd" in the box that shows up:

in the new black box that opens, type "ipconfig" and push the enter key.
Look for a section like this:
Quote
Ethernet adapter WIFI:

        Connection-specific DNS Suffix  . :
        IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.43.174
        Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
        IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : fe80::224:2bff:fe66:facd%11
        Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.43.1
note the bolded parts for later, you don't have to post them here, as they don't matter to us.

take the part from the default gateway, and put that into your url bar at the top. you might need to put "http://" before it.

this is a post at 1am, so i apologize for inconsistencies.
i might proofread it in the morning...
