Author Topic: So I want to make this electronic thingy  (Read 509 times)

But I don't know how as I have never made anything electronic before except for once in a science fair or something.

So basically it's going to be something the size of a quarter or around there, and it has a light and (possibly, doesn't have to) a sound maker (idk) on it. It would be activated via some kinda fob-like device that when activated it would make the light flash and the sound maker beep.

I tried looking up how to do something like this and all I got were stuffty camera tutorials and those 1st grade make-your-own-light kits. If anyone could give me tips or  links to devices I could use that would be really nice.

Well you first need the materials and such.
What you want to do is have delays to make them each go off at the right time.

Neither of those really helped because I obviously need supplies and I don't know what you mean  by delays.

Delay things to make the current flow into the object to make it do something. If you want to control volume on something be sure to use resistors.

Ok thats more helpful but like
how
I need to physically make it

Its hard to say with words.
But here's what you do. stuff I haven't a clue anymore. Mind fart :c

Someone help out please.

Electricity is very fun to screw around with.

You can get ICs -integrated circuits that do things for you, easiest option. at RadioShcak and other places for really cheap prices. By delays he means something that can strangely but surely enough be done with a bunch of resistors. I dont know the exact layout so I cant tell you but an electricity forum or site can help you.

and make noise with a light and button integrated? IC is must. Either way, IC or not, youre gonna have a good time finding a siren buzzer or noisemaker the size of a quarter.

Fob? and by flash do you mean strobe?

A fob, like the thing you get with new cars that unlocks and locks your car remotely. By flash I just mean it flashes twice. Basically a remotely activated tiny light
