I'm a great vocalist when I'm drunk

In all seriousness though, it would help to know what you really need style wise. And if you have some lyrics written already, or lyrics from another song that match the style you want, you should post them and people should use those for applications to keep things consistent
And you shouldn't do applications over Skype (or any voice chat program, I ASSUME that's what you're doing because you're asking for peoples Skype) but rather have the applicator record themselves straight into a .wav file, possibly with a bit of post processing (you'd be doing it anyway in a song)

We aren't sure what we're looking for we just need to find someone just right
Ok record yourself singing this (Or Skype) And send it to me

Happy Life, with the machines, Scattered around the room. Look what they made, they made it for me, Happy technology. Outside, the lions run, Feeding on remains. We’ll never leave, look at us now, So in love with the way we are.

I would really like to contribute but my mic totally changes the tone of my voice.

I suggest you use a site like Vocaroo instead of Skype, it's much easier.

Get out.

To do any serious recording you're going to need to find someone with a good voice AND a decent microphone designed for this stuff, which is very difficult to do (For free that is. If you're willing to pay for services it's rather easy to find people online) unless you know someone personally. Microphone setups run for $100-$800 and sometimes more depending on what you want. Headsets and desk mics are absolutely not going to cut it for music production.

Sorry if I'm sounding like a complete downer here, but you did say this is a serious thread so I'm giving serious thoughts and advice.

Yeah we need to find someone that can record their voice and we will organise to either have them go to one of our places depending on location OR We make them sign a contract and such and hand them the control of the equipment but obviously age is an issue and such - this is what we're going to do unless they have the best quality mic in the world.

I have a pretty professional mic and a pretty professional home studio but I'm not very good at singing.

Vocaroo is very bad for recording audio. I'd just record your voice through Wavepad or Audiocity and send it in a .zip or .mp3.
