What's funny is that the Mayan calender does not have leap years, and taking the leap years out puts the so-called doomsday on some day in July 2011.

leapyear WAS accounted for. WE were the ones that translated the date from their calendar to ours. so the date DOES come to 12/21/2012

and the mayans never claimed the world would end. they say they have lived through this cycle at least 3 times already.
