Author Topic: Flash Player without internet explorer?  (Read 393 times)

It's pissing me off that when I try opening an animated .gif, it comes up with internet explorer because I can't find a download for flash player (like that old macromedia one that comes up with a box with the animation in it) because it says Google Chrome already has Flash Player 11 installed, which is not what I'm looking for. Opening the .gif in Windows Picture Viewer does not work. Also, when I try to upload an animated .gif as an avatar from my computer, such as my current one, it does not animate, but others do. Is this animated to anyone else?

Then open it in Google Chrome?

I don't want it to come up in my internet browser, I want it to come up in Windows Picture Viewer or some flash player like it did in Windows XP

as you basically have no other choice you should probably just open it in your browser

they were meant for displaying animated gifs anyway.

unfortunately microsoft thought it was a great idea to integrate windows live picture viewer into windows vista so you can't fix it and it's all microsoft's fault
i'll try and see if i can get the XP one to work on 7

I'm using Windows 7 not Vista.

I'm using Windows 7 not Vista.
Vista = 6.0
7 = 6.1
they both have most of the same programs and layouts anyways

I know but Windows 7 is different in some critical ways.
