Author Topic: Sony wants to implement in-game advertising  (Read 1031 times)

i would like billboards that change better. people notice them and they arent that annoying.

This, pretty much. I'd much rather have billboards with RL-products, like in Need for Speed, than ads stopping the imersion. Next thing we see is the Lone-Wanderer² being cut-off in the middle of combat with multiple behemoths, ad being 30 secs long, you go take a piss and are dead once you return.

I see billboards in Saints Row 2 for Glee, FX, the Simpsons, and others. In skate 3 I see some for Miracle Whip, why can't we stick to that?

If they do this then they will loose so much sales.
That would be a very bad move on Sony's part.

Because only the game developers are making money and Sony want their own money.

they are making loving 400 dollar consoles, thats enough sony.

Battlefield 2142 had ad's in it, you just didn't care because they were billboards in-game.
personally i like it like that. everytime i play burnout 3, it makes me want to play need for speed cause theres billboards of it everywhere lol

If anything customers will associate bad things, like having to stop playing a game, with the product and never buy it.

rl adds are ok, as long as it's a billboard or a magazine. if you stop my game, i'm going to loving pawn the console and buy from someone else.

someone is going to make a thing so if your ps3 is jailbroken you can download it and disable the ads

and i will get it.

Maybe they just want to hold the patent so when stupid free games start doing this Sony can charge licensing fees.

All the more reason to Nintendo.
