Author Topic: Ubuntu Stuck in DWM  (Read 1538 times)

So today I forgeted up.

I changed my session to DWM, after richarding around for a bit in DWM, I realized you can't do anything in default DWM (correct me if I am wrong.).  So I held the power button down until my computer turned off.

And I forgot I had autologin enabled, so I am stuck in a useless window manager.

What do?

Now that I got that out of the way people can help you!

Can you log out of DWM?

You can access the terminal, yes?

Run
Code: [Select]
$ sudo nano /etc/lightdm
Change it to
Code: [Select]
[SeatDefaults]
user-session=ubuntu
greeter-session=unity-greeter
autologin-user=
Then run
Code: [Select]
$ sudo shutdown -r now
Enjoy.

ctrl+shift+f7 sends you back to the gui.

No.  I can't do anything in DWM.  I pressed ctrl + shift + f1 - f6 and I am still stuck.

Ctrl+Alt, not Ctrl+Shift.
