Author Topic: Any programs like hamachi?  (Read 2493 times)

Does anyone know of any programs LIKE hamachi? Not hamachi, but can do most of the features. I want to see if I can link up computers to make it easier for my company. (maybe not actually "company", but still)

What do you mean? you need a local area network emulator type program?

Well, like an internet router, but not an actual one. Like when you connect 2 computers to a router, they connect to each other by LAN. Any like, internet network programs (or whatever they are) ?

you could actually use vpn's... i don't know how though. hamachi just makes it easier for the end user.

Well Idk how to use VPNs either, but my dad doesn't allow hamachi. He doesn't like it, he says someone on the network will hack our computer, and actually I think thats true.

yeah, hamachi does allow easier access to your computer due to the nature of the way it works.

i would like to point out that VPNs, which is what hamachi runs on (?), will be no more secure than hamachi.

also, there isn't a way to achieve the affect you're looking for without VPNs/hamachi.

I think.

Using Hamachi does set up a network on your computer, so the risk of getting hacked is moderate if you just let anyone in, but that is with all dedicated server software.
Hamachi is the only one I know of, as I have tried looking for better programs as well.

How about you actually learn how to port forward...

This or,

Just set a password on your Hamachi network and only let trusted people join

Hamachi isn't even that dangerous.  Working around it by getting another program that's less popular just because your dad doesn't like the most known one isn't helping you solve any sort of problem.

How about you actually learn how to port forward...
Explain how to port forward when you're using internet over an android phone because you can't afford internet stronger than that because your neighbor sued you for half your property and you had to pay nearly 10k in lawyer fees?

Chances are that isn't his current scenario.

No, but it's mine and I'm pissed the forget off at people who insist port forwarding is the answer for every problem.

yes, it's true, port forwarding is very fast and definitely easier for the client user, but it's just not possible in some cases.

how are you playing blockland or anything that requires port forwarding on an android phone

Making a password for hamachi actually sounds good. My dad will probably say yes because at least 0.000000000000000000000000000 0001 of the world knows about it (my "company"). Maybe even more zeros.
