So yea, got on the computer today, which is connected through Ethernet, and go this error. No fix. Got any ideas?

Posting from my ipad btw

where does it say this

where does it say this

The little tray icon, can't do anything Internet related.

The driver for your motherboards ethernet controller probably isn't installed take the CD with your drivers and install it.

EDIT: Actually nvm thats probably not it for some reason I thought you said the computer was new.

try typing ncpa.cpl in the search bar and see if your local area connection is disabled

type device manager in it and click device manager and see if the network controller is disabled(has happened to me twice somehow)

check if the plug in the back of your computer is unplugged or unplugged from the modem(lulz)

Just restart your computer. It works for me

are you sure the device is enabled
check network devices (not physically, in your OS)

Trying to restart, loving chkdsk gets in the way

what is

check disk it checks for bad sectors on the hard-drive. He would have had to call for a check disk before restarting for it to run I am pretty sure so not sure why he's complaining when he did it.

Chkdsk happens randomly all the time.mi kept on skipping this one but I forgot about it when I restarted it and it went through it. At least no bad sectors.
