Author Topic: Green blobs on a DTS model (NVIDIA rendering error?)  (Read 1043 times)

This is a bizarre problem. This guy RMS Gigantic sees green blobs on models I made. He said that almost all of his graphics settings were at max. His graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce GT 550M.

There are no overlapping faces in the model. There is no green texture of any kind. I have not colored anything green.

This is what I see. I also tried setting all graphics to as low as I could and I still couldn't replicate those blobs. My card is ATI Radeon HD 5870 v2.

And to prove it's not a problem with my models. This is what McTwist sees, this was the first time he saw these models so he did not have any old versions of them. His card is XFX AMD HD 6870 BE.

He just added that this problem still persists even at max Blockland graphics settings.

Do you have a server with this up?
I have 3 different Geforce cards I'm willing to try to replicate with

Do you have three different computers with those cards?

I have this problem also.

is that the.the...titanic.

Here are the results from KoopaScooper on three different computers.

Geforce 9500GT 1GB
No AA, no AF, pre-rendered frames set to 3

No pre-rendered frames.

AA 16x, AF 16x, pre-rendered frames set to 3 (less visible, but still there)

Geforce 6200
Pre-rendered frames at 3. The models are not actually colorshiftable. The brick the model is attached to has a red color but the models still use their own textures.

Geforce 2 MX400
Pre-rendered frames set to 7.

I'm almost 100% sure that NVIDIA's pre-rendered frames are the issue, in my experience, they seem to cause issues in older games (such as Lego Island and Dark Forces 2,) but can increase FPS in newer games.

Uh oh, Mac users can't set these preferences.

I don't know what the NVIDIA Control Panel is under Mac, but I know it's NVIDIA X Server Settings under Linux to disable them
