Author Topic: What car does the Top Gear U.K. camera crew drive?  (Read 4339 times)

Because some of the cars they test go really damn fast yet the camera crews can follow it's tail or even pass it and remain in front, so they must be driving a very powerful car. What is said car?

They may have a helicopter of sorts.

I think they attach some sort of rig to the top of the car

something like that

Well yes they do but when it's obviously a roof mounted camera on a car, what is said car? I asked this because I'm watching Top Gear and you can see the camera mount in the shadow.

Edit: No guise look

Hallo? This is important to me :c

land rovers and things like that

They use a Bugatti powered Range Rover.

Alot of the time the super-fast cars are actually only going about 40 mph for those scenes. They don't need a supercar to keep up with that. Notice how there are no lightning-fast mega speed follow cams.

they drive a toyota hilux that was then converted to a lava truck by sir elton james may

The real camera car is actually a go kart in which the stig can reach a top speed of 200 MPH

Yeah I agree with Mack.

Its a mixture of mounting cameras to vehicles, having an average car drive past while the featured car slows down, and using helicopters to get high angles.

It's a Land Rover Discovery with the back door off. :P

It's not off, it's just open. And it's a Range Rover.
