It also has a bit to do with national relations. It's a bit centred around the idea of world peace.

I enjoy all sports tournaments with the World Cup being my favorite. I was in Germany in 2010 visiting my Grandma during the World Cup in South Africa and it was amazing. After each win (for Germany) people would get on the streets and party the whole night. Too bad we don't have stuff like this in America.

i remember when the giants won the world series in 2010. i was out in the streets of san francisco and suddenly everyone just started cheering and i got a bunch of hugs. one of the greatest days of my life
