Cantonese I personally find harder. Mandarin has been referred to as the easier of the major Chinese dialects, but I dunno.

Considering that Canto has 8 tones and is ridled with slang, you're probably right. I'd rather learn Canto because I actually find Mando to sound annoying as hell.
