It's kind of ridiculous how you can't edit the environment in singleplayer because YOU AREN'T EVEN AN ADMIN.

Why not be an SA with a single player map? I DON'T loving KNOW.

It's quite likely that a mod is causing this. Try running the game with only default add-ons.
