Just found this today, there was a showroom for their cars in the mall.
The interior is friggin sweet, completely touch-screen, the door handles retract into the body when driving to steamline airflow.
Fully electric too, the front where the engine would be is another "trunk".

Heres the site: http://www.teslamotors.com/models

DA FUTUR IS CUMMING!

they're nice looking cars but i can't say i'm a big fan of them being completely electric.

About ten years. Also, the guy who launched that private spacecraft to the ISS co-founded Tesla.

I am, actually. Not because I'm some environmentally conscious richardwad who constantly boasts about having an electric car and that they're saving the environment and all that stuff. It's more because gasoline is loving expensive. Not sure if using a full electric car would be better though.

Coal is cheaper I believe.

yeah but electric batteries take a while to recharge. i don't see why they couldn't do something like in the older toyota priuses: have an electric motor or w/e as a backup
just my uneducated 2 cents though

the main problem with electric cars is that you pay the $200,000 for it then you either A: Run from 75% coal powered electricity, or B: dish out another $4,000 for solar panels, plus wiring.

the founder (cofounder technically), elon musk, is basically my idol
he also founded SpaceX, the leading commercial space entity

musk has said that even if you were to charge a tesla off electricity taken from the dirtiest power plants (coal), it would still be cleaner than a gas powered vehicle

We need nuclear powered cars... Screw safety  :cookieMonster:
