Almost all doctors will agree that giving soda to an infant is a horrible idea:

If you do some googling, you'll see a lot of more results. These are just 2 that I found. Giving a baby soda increases chances for obesity, robs calcium from their bones (bad idea, since their bones are pretty much balsa wood). It also screws their mood up for the rest of the day. They get a "high" from it, but the rest of their day will be in a poor mood once that wears off.

It has no benefits, and is very harmful. People can argue whether pop is bad for teens - adults, but no one really seems to argue the fact that it shouldn't be in an infants diet.
