Author Topic: My ghostly iPod  (Read 728 times)

I was just browsing the forums
Battery goes red because lower than 20%
Turns back to green
Wat so forums?

Mine does this all the time when it's around 20% power.
It'll alert you, the bar goes red, then you give it a bit and it goes back to green.

I'm not entirely sure where I heard this, or if I'm just pulling it from my arse (which I likely am), but I'm pretty sure it's to do with heat.
When you hold onto the iPod for some time heat from your hands will warm up the battery slightly, which for whatever reason (I'm not an electrician) makes the iPod read it as having more power than it does.

That or it just not good at calculating the power it has.

iPod batteries are dumb
case closed

lol does it tell you when your battery is at 10 percent
I just got my iPod

yeah i think it does at 10% too, however i dont remember for sure because my ipod was stolen last year ;-;

a better question is why are you letting the battery get so low

a better question is why are you letting the battery get so low

when i first got my ipod (and fully charged it), the first thing i did is a stress test on the battery and see how long it could go without a charge

Yeah the internal heat in that thing is likely to be far more than your body heat.

theres your problem

there isn't even a problem here

OP was wondering why the ipod did this, OP was not saying this is a problem
