Author Topic: I just watched Rise of the Planet of the Apes (Spoliers)  (Read 507 times)

It was a pretty great movie. Pretty sad though. I'm not sure, but I think this ties in with the older movie(s?). Because it said something like before apes rules the planet, old human technology, and a monkey named Cornelius like in the movie I just watched I think. Does anybody know about the whole story of these things? Did the Humans that survived the disease have to move to another planet after apes took over or what?

My prediction is millions of humans are killed by that disease so they evacuated to a new planet, and left Earth for the apes. I guess Cornelius, that younger-looking ape in the movie became king after Caesar died or something. Maybe, I don't know about that part. Then, the Humans decided to explore Earth again, to find it ruled by apes. I think they were killing each other at first but then they made peace. I'm pretty sure there's a part where Cornelius shows them a 'talking' human doll to show them ancient human technology or something. I didn't read much out of the Wiki.

I doubt I'm very accurate, and I hardly know any details, so can somebody that knows about these movies explain it? We can just discuss Rise of the Planet of the Apes, though. It doesn't really matter.

it was ok but rlly sad @ the end

I just finished it also.

The ending was bad in the sense that they didn't even "rise"

Technically they did, it showed how the disease was spreading and killing everyone. Apes are seemingly immune, so they would take over.

I watched this not too long ago, Wonderful movie

I have a strong opinion about the movie series

my opinion:

You HAVE to watch the first original one, THEN you can watch Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes.

I don't mean you have to watch the entire original series, every one besides the first one pretty much sucks.

I liked it but since my grandfather had just died like a week before I watched it I balled my eyes out

because of the guys dad having altimers and stuff

I hated that movie, it was too short and it seemed to end just as the commercial made it seem it began.

Yeah, that did kind of suck. But, there's not much more they could do.
Unless they made a part two or something. I don't know.

Based off the commercial I expected a movie filled with badass gorillas destroying a city. I instead paid to see a movie where some dude takes care of a gorilla and then at the very end the gorillas flip a few cars and the credits roll. Was disappointing :(
