Author Topic: Desert TDM Need assistance  (Read 763 times)

I am Making a desert Team Deathmatch with Slayer, using capture points, controlling the area, etc. Presently I'm using unique player types and abilities, but I would also like to try using tier+tactical 2 weapons, if anyone would help me use them properly. Comments are accepted. If you would like to help, please message me or reply, but preferably msg.
Player Classes
1. Fire Mario (Fire balls etc., plus a mushroom and bomb-omb agile playertype){will be made more vulnerable later}
2.Assault(ight mg, smg,medkit and kukri)
3. Sniper (sniper, magnum, bottle, medkit)
4.Speedscout (fast playertype, chainsaw,snubnose, medkit)
5. commando (sg,pistols akimbo, bonesaw, medkit)
6. Knuckles (fast with old-school boxing gloves, pill)

The map looks okay, but I would suggest removing the helicopters considering how small and enclosed the map is. Also, add more options to the poll such as "Keep none" (for the weapon packs and playertypes) and please describe these player-types so I know how they will affect the battle. This will help users understand the server more and want to help you more.

EDIT: Go HERE if you want the latest T+T weapon pack, I think the downloads on RTB are not the latest.

Map is poorly built in my opinion, And the helicopters are a terrible idea.

I would also suggest making map bigger unless your player limit is like 6.

Player Types

3. Stealth Sniper (1/2 health playertype, tf2 sniper, cloak and dagger, fire axe, pill)
4.Speed Bug (double jump weak playertype, tuskan raider sniper, bottle, medkit)

My opinions on these:
Fire Mario - If the mushroom means a larger playertype, take it out, the map is too small for this. Also, no need to have a fast agile player, mid speed is fine.

Heavy - High health and slow player is a good idea, however pistols do not really fit the need for a large, heavy weapon. Also, if these players cannot move fast, what is the point of a melee weapon. Also, take out boom-belts; the map is too small for them.

Stealth Sniper - I think stealth and snipers should be separated, make another class for stealth players. Also, no real point in having less than 100 percent health, 100 health is fine. Lastly, the fire axe should not belong here, but rather in the speed bug class.

Speedbug- 75 health is fine for a "weak but fast" player, no lower though. Also, do NOT give them snipers, as that totally takes the point of the sniper class. The other items are fine, however replace the sniper with some pistol or other weak shotgun/other weapon.

Dr. Zegobob: I'm thinking of doing away entirely with the speedbug, heavy and stealth sniper classes. In the place of the speedbug, I created a class called knuckles where you only get old school boxing gloves, a pill and a fast playertype (havent decided what health, an opinion would be nice). The rest of the classes would be tier+tactical 2 classes. These would be Sniper, Assault,scout, and Shotgun classes.

Glassy: Yes the map is small, I only intend to have 10 players or less, and I no longer have copters(or any aerial vehicle for that matter).

The boxing class sounds like a nice idea, but give it a small secondary item like a pill or a medkit. Also, when you use T+T, you really cannot not use much else besides it or it makes the game unbalanced. Pills and medical supplies, as well as a few grenades are okay though. Also, what are you doing with "fire mario?"

My question here too.
I'd make him a pyro-type class, classic SMG, molotov(T+T2.1), fire axe, and a classic pistol.

You probably should use GSF's mod Terrain, I think it would look better in where you are trying to create stubble and whatnot.
Also, I feel like there should be a few height variations, like 2 or 3 bricks worth on the terrain.

The Mario Class now has sprinting playertype, and i'm not too sure about adding gsf bricks though. Im also adding a camera room and some other stuff. I'll post some pics later

Make it a mid-speed playertype, and no mega mushroom, but the other classes look okay.

The reason the playertype is sprinter is because it is fuel based with the fire attacks. Since the fire and sprinting is fuel-based it seems an even fit. There is also a slight delay on the fire release. I really don't have an interest in GSF bricks for so small a map though.
